I've thought about this for a while, and I decided to post it for the immediate near future.

I brought Badira to the vet on Friday, July 1st. Her bilirubin was still increasing, and she was so weak that when she vomited, she simply fell over. The veterinarian and I at that point had run out of options. Even if we did have the surgery done, it would have killed her.

I put Badira down on July 1st. There was literally nothing else that could be done.

The veterinarian performed an autopsy, and there was cancer throughout her liver and pancreas. because there was no tumor per se, they didn't find it on the ultrasound.

I cried for three days. I still miss her terribly. I sit in the spots on the couch and on the chair, and leave space for her, and she's not there. I still cry sometimes.

Stephanie's mother, my mother and law, and I both decided NOT to tell Stephanie until after boot camp. Out of respect for us, and for Stephanie, PLEASE do not tell her. She does not need to know about it now, nor can she properly grieve.

This was the reason I didn't tell anyone. I should have trusted her friends with not telling her early. Please do not have me put my trust in vain.

This morrrning she gave me DUCK. Duck disgusts me.
